JusPay

Enable Tamara through Juspay’s payment orchestration and checkout platform to offer customers a seamless Buy Now, Pay Later experience. Existing Juspay merchants can add Tamara to their current payment flow, while new merchants can work with the Juspay integration team to complete the required setup.

Overview

Juspay is a global payment technology platform that provides payment orchestration, checkout experiences, tokenisation, authentication, reconciliation, and transaction-monitoring capabilities.

Through this integration, merchants can offer Tamara as a payment method while managing payment initiation, refunds, cancellations, and reporting through Juspay.

Supported Regions and Currencies

Tamara payments through Juspay are supported in the following regions and currencies:

  • United Arab Emirates (UAE) — AED
  • Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) — SAR

Availability must be confirmed with the Juspay Account Manager before starting the integration.

Pre-requisites

Before beginning the integration, ensure that:

  • You have access to the applicable Juspay developer documentation and integration specifications.
  • You are integrated with a supported Juspay Checkout or payment API flow.
  • Tamara is configured for the required Juspay merchant ID and client ID.
  • Your Juspay Account Manager has enabled Tamara in the Sandbox environment.

Mandatory Requirement

For merchants using the Juspay Hosted Payment Page, the applicable Tamara widget and branding requirements are handled within the hosted payment experience.
Merchants using their own product pages or checkout interface must implement the required Tamara branding widgets in accordance with Tamara’s guidelines.

Sandbox Testing Flow

Follow these steps to complete a Tamara payment in the Sandbox environment:

1.Create an order through Juspay with the required amount, currency, customer, and return URL details.
2.Initiate the payment by selecting Tamara as the payment method.
3.Retrieve the Tamara redirect URL returned in the Juspay payment response.
4.Redirect the customer to Tamara’s hosted checkout page.
5.Sign in using one of the Sandbox test phone numbers provided.
6.Confirm the one-time password displayed or provided for Sandbox testing.
7.Enter the applicable Tamara test card details, if prompted.
8.Submit the payment.
9.After completion, the customer will be redirected to the configured success, failure, or cancellation URL.
10.Verify the final payment status through the Juspay order-status API or webhook notification.

Next Steps

After completing Sandbox testing:

  • Validate successful, failed, and customer-cancelled payment scenarios.
  • Test full and partial refunds.
  • Validate the success, failure, and cancellation redirects.
  • Confirm that Juspay webhooks are received and processed successfully.
  • Confirm that captures do not remain in a deferred state unless intentionally configured.
  • Validate the amount, currency, customer information, and basket details.
  • Confirm the applicable Tamara widget placement and messaging.
  • Coordinate with the Juspay Account Manager to enable Tamara in Production.
❗️

Important

Failure to configure or monitor webhooks may result in incorrect order statuses, delayed fulfilment, or reconciliation issues.

Refunds & Cancellations Handling

Refunds and cancellations for Tamara transactions must be managed exclusively through Juspay.

  • Refunds can be initiated using the applicable Juspay APIs or through the Juspay Merchant Portal, where enabled.
  • Both full and partial refunds must be validated during Sandbox testing.
  • Merchants must not process refunds or cancellations directly through Tamara, as the direct refund option is not suggested.

Support & Escalation Matrix

For integration, Sandbox testing, or Production-related support:

  • Merchants should first contact their Juspay Account Manager
  • Juspay will act as the primary point of contact and coordinate with Tamara Support when required.
  • Direct escalation to Tamara is not required unless explicitly advised by Juspay.
